WHY is ORTHOGOLF Important?
| :: |
ORTHOGOLF is dedicated to assisting
golfers nationwide with an advanced, state
of the art sportsmedicine program and swing
performance program to MAKE GOLF A HEALTHIER,
MORE ENJOYABLE GAME. |
| :: |
Never before has such expert
help been made conveniently available to the
amateur recreational golfer. |
| :: |
You will be amazed at the improvement
this program will make in your swing. You
must feel the new sense of freedom in your
swing to believe it. |
| :: |
Nearly 80% of all golfers suffer
from one type of injury or another and most
injuries involve the back. The majority of
injuries are due to faulty swing mechanics,
poor conditioning and loss of flexibility
and strength. |
| :: |
Although not generally considered
a strenuous physical activity, research shows
that during the golf swing the spine can experience
loads up to 7 times body weight. |
| :: |
Many swing faults are due to
tight TISSUES AND JOINTS, causing the golfer
to swing off plane and off balance. A tight
muscle is often beyond the golfer's control.
Stretching of these tight muscles and joints
can correct many swing problems. |
| :: |
Golfers frequently continue
to re-injure themselves or to rehabilitate
incorrectly from back pain due to poor swing
mechanics. Many golfers use swings that produce
incredible stress to their backs and are UNAWARE
of what they are doing or how to correct their
motion. |
|
 |
HOW Does the Physical Therapist
AND the Golf Pro Help Your Golf Swing?
| :: |
ORTHOGOLF allows the physical therapist
PGA\LPGA teaching professional t work together in
a program that offers a swing methodology that will
reduce the injury to the spine and extremities.
|
| :: |
The physical therapist will give you
the flexibility and strength for a smooth, fluid
golf swing, free of tight muscles and tissues which
cause pain and mechanical swing faults. Following
a session with the physical therapist, you can easily
respond physically to the demands of the golf swing.
|
| :: |
The PGA or LPGA professional will
instruct you in a 'Stabilized Spine Position'
to enable the golfer to reduce strain during the
rapid motion of the golf swing. This swing will
solve many of your swing faults and poor positioning
during the back swing, impact and follow through.
This swing is taught by some of the best golf instructors
in the game. There may be times where the pro will
ask you to get in a position, but your body will
not allow it. After working with the physical therapist,
the golfer can now successfully respond to the golf
pro instruction. Golf lessons are not a requirement,
but can supplement the program nicely. |
